“Join
the Shawnee Peak Race Team (SPRT) Saturday April 11 and Sunday the12th
at the club’s 2015 SPRT Spring Slalom Festival. Young and old are
invited to run slalom gates on the Pine chairlift in a two-day test of
tight-radius turns. Whether a seasoned junior racer, a newbie to the art of
slalom, or a veteran wanting to relive days of glory, sign up for what promises
to be a weekend of plastic bashing, sun, fun, tunes and burgers. We will set a
variety of courses, using “brushes”, “stubbies”,
“U12 & 14 gates”, and regular long gates. Terrain will be
moderate and suitable for all levels. The goal is to end the weekend as a more accomplished
and confident skier/racer. The cost is $50 for one day, $75 for both days,
whether adult or junior, which includes the slalom courses and lift
ticket. The lift will open at 8 a.m. and we will close at 12
noon. The grill will be fired up and $8
buys lunch. To sign up, immediately text or e mail Cici
Gordon at Cicigordon@gmail.com
(617-596-1358) and tell her your name, age, whether you will be there one day
or both, then put a check made out to SPRT in U.S. Mail, to SPRT 119
Mountain Road, Bridgton, Me. 04009. Come with a pole plant and a
smile! Always looking for volunteers to help lugging, drilling,
salting. For planning purposes, we need to hear from you by the end of
this week, Sunday April 12th, and we need your checks by no later than
Wednesday April 15, no exceptions (Just like the tax man!).
Thank you. ”
